Mannequin Licker is a contra-pop/dubstep/electronic music artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Working within strands of new/old distributive practice and technology, beat-making and electro-acoustic composition, the aim is to explore notions of dissemination, interventionism, giving, audiencing, architecture, techno-utopias, mobile publics, and ownership. The aim of this blog is to document my reflections on the project as it progresses, my intention being to post, if not regularly, then at least during its most productive stretches.

The idea behind this blog is to continually flush out my thoughts in a rather haphazard and messy form, which will hopefully allow the odd succinct and coherent post to make its way in amongst the deluge.  I expect as I grapple and grope the subject, read more and do more in general that the blog will eventually simmer into a tangy jus of informative pertinence.

There are some Mannequin Licker releases coming out on Kakutopia (York) and Moma Recordings (Barcelona) in mid 2010.
